Fewer Students to Qualify for Pell Grants
5 Jan 2005

Because the U.S. Department has changed the way it calculates eligibility for Pell Grants, more than one million low-income students may face reductions in their federal aid.

It is estimated that, with these new calculations, about 1.2 millions students would receive reduced Pell grants and about 90,000 would lose Pell Grant eligibility entirely.
