More Women than Men Apply to Medical School

According to the Association of Medical Colleges, not only were medical school applications up again this year (continuing a trend started last year), but more applications were submitted by women than men and by African Americans and Hispanic Americans.

In fact, of the students who applied to medical schools this year, more than 50 percent of them were women. Fewer applications were submitted by African and HIspanic Americans, but the numbers were up 3 percent over last year.
