Marking the start of the new year, the U.S. Department of Education has launched a new version of its student aid web site.

The revised web site offers a host of features that will help students interested in finding federal financial aid and understanding available tax credits. In addition, a new "student profile" option lets students explore their college choices and career interests.

As in previous versions, the site also provides a financial aid calculator and links to other scholarship-related sites.
