Amy Sonnie is the recipient of the 2007/8 Reference Service Press Fellowship. She is currently attending San Jose State University's graduate program in library science.  

After completing her dual B.A. degree from Syracuse University in public communications and women's studies, Amy began her career in pubishing and editing--releasing her first book at the age of 24. For the past seven years, she has been the Associate Director of the Youth Media Council, the only nonprofit in the country dedicated solely to advancing media access and fair information policy for disenfranchised communities.

As the first woman in her family to attend college, Amy is devoted to education and information access to empower diverse communities. Once her master's degree in completed, Amy looks forward to a career as a librarian in public service and information innovation.
