Reference Service Press began, in 1977, as a library-oriented reference book publisher. Although the company's scope has broadened considerably since then--both in its products and and its markets--it has stayed close to its roots. Each year, Reference Service Press funds two programs (a fellowship and an award) aimed specifically at the library field:
